Virginia Ann (Daley) Vanderbilt, 81, of Ramsey, NJ, passed peacefully surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on April 24, 1944, in New York, New York, Virginia grew up there where her strong faith first took root as a young child—a devotion that would guide and sustain her throughout her life. Small in stature but fierce in presence, Virginia was known for her strength, conviction, and unwavering ability to stand firm in her beliefs. She spoke her mind with confidence, loved deeply, and faced life’s challenges with resilience and grace.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband John Vanderbilt. They were married on April 14, 1962, and together they built a family grounded in faith, strength, and enduring love.
Predeceased by her parents Harold Daley and Marie Connelly Daley, and her siblings, Helen Daley, John Daley, and Tom Daley.
She is survived by her brother, David Daley and her 8 children: Ramona (Barry) Smith, John (Kathleen) Vanderbilt, James Vanderbilt, Joseph (Tiffany) Vanderbilt, Jeffrey Vanderbilt, Timothy Vanderbilt, Virginia Vanderbilt, and Kayla Vanderbilt. Her grandchildren include Barry Smith Jr, Nikki Smith, Joseph Vanderbilt II, Jessica Vanderbilt, Sara Martin, Devon Warner, Logan Vanderbilt, Colten Vanderbilt, and Christiana Vanderbilt. Her great grandchildren include Kylie Vanderbilt, Serenity Vanderbilt, Eden Vanderbilt, Hunter Vanderbilt, Alexis Westerhoff, Aaron Westerhoff, Devon Warner Jr, Michael Vanderbilt, Braelyn Smith, and Barry Smith III
Virginia will be remembered for her powerful spirit, steadfast faith, unforgettable stories, and the profound impact she had on everyone blessed to know her. Her legacy lives on in the strength, courage, and devotion she instilled in her family. While she will be deeply missed, her loved ones take comfort in knowing that her faith has now led her home, where she is embraced in eternal peace.
