Violet Gabrouk Wasilenko

VIOLET GABROUK WASILENKO, age 95, of Sun City West, AZ and formerly of Saddle Brook, NJ passed away on December 17, 2022. Violet (or Vi, as she was known by all) was born on May 17, in Old Forge, PA.  Vi moved to New Jersey as a young adult, where she met and later married John Gabrouk.  They lived in Saddle Brook, NJ until their retirement at which time they moved to Arizona.  Several years after Johns passing, Vi married Nickolas Wasilenko until his passing. Vi was deeply devoted and involved in the churches that she attended during her lifetime, including Three Saints Russian Orthodox Church in Garfield, NJ and Sts. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church in Phoenix, AZ. She was an avid seamstress, enjoying sewing clothes for herself and her children, in addition to sewing vestments, banners and table covers for the church.

Violet is the beloved mother of Daria Miskiv and Elena Marton and her husband Mark. Dear aunt of Donna Reeves, Michael Halchak, Joseph Stefanik and Sandra Stefanik. She is predeceased in life by her husband John Gabrouk, second husband Nickolas Wasilenko and sister Janet Halchak.

Services from Kugler Community Home For Funerals, Saddle Brook NJ. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, December 26, 2022 from 4-8pm. A funeral service will be held at Holy Apostles Orthodox Church, 17 Platt Ave, Saddle Brook NJ on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 10:30 am. Interment in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
