Roderic (Rodney) James Kirwan

Roderic (Rodney) James Kirwan of Saddle Brook NJ, went to be with the Lord on June 25, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Patricia Leser Kirwan, his precious daughters Cassandra and Tricia, his devoted son Mark and beloved granddaughter Callie Rose.  Rodney is predeceased in life by his parents, Thomas and Margaret and his siblings Margaret, Thomas, Mary Jane, Edward and his twin, Michael.  He leaves behind siblings, Patrick Kirwan (Rose), Kevin Kirwan (Pat), Maureen Kirwan Hollingsworth (Ricky), sister in laws Virginia Hecker and Mary Kirwan as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Rodney graduated from Our Lady Queen of Martyrs in Inwood.  He then graduated from St. Nicholas of Tolentine High School in the Bronx.  Rodney worked for JP Morgan Chase (originally Chemical Bank) for 30 years.  Since his early retirement Rodney worked security for Rutgers, Prudential Arts Center, Metro Stars Soccer Stadium, and the Alcohol Compliance Unit at PNC. 

Rodney was an avid sports enthusiast that started with playing Little League for Inwood. He later coached his children's sports teams in soccer, softball, basketball and football in Saddle Brook. He was a devout Jets, Mets and Islanders fan.

Rodney was a man who was loved by so many and left us way too early.  He will be missed terribly by all.

The Family will receive family and friends at Kugler Funeral Home, 311 Fifth Street Saddle Brook, NJ on Wednesday July 5, 2023 from 4-8pm. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday July 6, 2023 at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 488 Saddle River Road Saddle Brook NJ 07663 at 11am. Interment to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Saddle Brook NJ.
