Jack (John) Ritchie

Jack (John) Ritchie passed away on September 18, 2026 at Van Dyk Park Place in Hawthorne, NJ. Jack was born on June 15, 1948 in Paterson, NJ, the first child of Pete and Pat (Daley) Ritchie. Jack spent his entire youth in Saddle Brook, NJ.

Jack was married to his loving wife, Janice (Hague) for 56 years. Jack is predeceased by his wife Janice and his parents Pete and Pat (Daley) Ritchie. He is survived by his sister, Jeanne Ritchie of Pennington, NJ and his brother, Tim Ritchie (Linda) of Hawthorne, NJ. Jack is also survived by his nephews Mike Ritchie (Helen) of Skillman, NJ, Matt Ritchie (Jess) of Hawthorne, NJ, Dave Ritchie of Township of Washington, NJ, Kevin Ritchie (Samantha) of Chicago, Illinois and his niece Caitlin Ritchie of Township of Washington, NJ and also his great nieces and nephews Madeleine Ritchie, Brian Ritchie, Eva Ritchie, Calvin Ritchie and Maya Ritchie.

Jack graduated from Saddle Brook High School where he played on the varsity football and baseball teams. He went on to graduate from Glassboro State College in NJ with a bachelor degree in teaching Industrial Arts. Shortly after graduation, Jack was drafted into the US Army during the Vietnam War but was fortunate to serve stateside until his honorable discharge in 1972. While living in New York City, Jack went on to pursue a career in copier sales. Jack retired 25 years ago to Bradenton, Florida where he enjoyed the companionship of many dear friends. His great joys in life were traveling, golf, organizing events, social gatherings and of course the NY Yankees and Giants.

Jack will be warmly remembered by all for his sincere and perpetual smile, his joy for life, his generous heart and his unwavering loyalty and love of family and friends.

As per Jack’s wishes, Jack’s final resting place will be in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery. A family gathering in honor of Jack will be held in the near future.
