Grace Ethelle Trella

GRACE ETHELLE TRELLA (nee Mullis) age 97, of Rochelle Park NJ, passed away on January 24, 2023. Grace Ethelle was the beloved wife of the late Casimir John Trella. Loving mother of Joel Gregory Trella and his wife Barbara of Saddle Brook, and Jeffrey Trella and his wife Grace, of Canajoharie, NY. Loving grandmother of Christine Pollinger and her husband Benjamin, Joel D. Trella and his wife Denise and the late Kylie Trella. Adored great-grandmother of Nathaniel, Caroline, Catherine, Christian, Max and Violet.

Grace Ethelle was born in Tifton, GA in 1925. She met Casimir John, who was serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps in Tifton, and they married in 1944. The couple relocated to Passaic NJ after WWII, where they resided until they moved to Garfield, NJ in 1962. Upon retiring, they returned to Grace Ethelle's beloved home, Tifton, GA. They enjoyed retirement in the south until Casimir John's death in 1995. She returned to Rochelle Park, NJ to be with her family and lived there for the last 27 years. Grace was known for her easy going nature, sweet disposition, and southern charm. She enjoyed people asking where she was from after hearing her southern accent. She took great pride in her southern heritage and was thrilled to meet former President Jimmy Carter and have him sign his book at an event in Ridgewood, NJ . She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.

Services from Kugler Community Home For Funerals. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 4-8pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 11am with a gathering before beginning at 10am. Interment following at St. Mary's Cemetery, Saddle Brook NJ.
