Edna Marie Skorka

EDNA MARIE SKORKA, age 96, lifelong resident of Garfield, NJ passed on June 28, 2025. Edna was the loving daughter of the late Frank and Gisela Oberhofer (nee Gartler), beloved wife of the late Robert Skorka and loving mother of the late Robert Kenneth Skorka. Edna was also the loving sister of the late Gisella Koelwyn and Hilda Denistran, beloved sister-in-law of Leocadia Skurka, dear Godmother of Ron Olejarz and a caring aunt, great-aunt, and great-great aunt to several nieces and nephews.

Edna was born in Passaic, NJ and graduated from Clifton High School. Edna worked at Pfizer Pharmaceutical Company as a secretary in the Personnel Department for 27 years before retiring in 1991. Edna loved to do Sudoku, play bingo and black jack, and travel around the world. She loved to do things with her sisters, take care of her sisters, and was a die-hard Yankees fan. Over her 96 years, she saw history we only read about- the Great Depression, World War II, 16 different Presidents, September 11Terrorist Attack, and the COVID Pandemic. Edna was loved and will be truly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services from Kugler Funeral Home 311 Fifth Street Saddle Brook, NJ. Viewing hours for family and friends will be on Tuesday July 8th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral mass to be celebrated at Most Holy Name Catholic Church 99 Marcellus Place Garfield, NJ on Wednesday July 9th at 10:00 am. Interment immediately afterwards at St. Mary's Cemetery in Saddle Brook.
