Dolores N. Pekaar

Dolores Nancy Pekaar (nee Coppola), 93, of Saddle Brook, NJ passed away on June 30, 2024. 

She was the daughter of the late Carmine and Ella (Hess) Coppola of Newark, NJ. Dolores was raised in the Ironbound Section of Newark, where she graduated from Eastside High School in 1948 and worked for over 20 years at Associated Transport Trucking Company. 

In 1970, Dolores moved to Saddle Brook, NJ and worked at Reckitt and Benckiser for many years. Upon retirement she spent summers with her family in Long Beach Island where she enjoyed cooking and going to the beach and sunsets. Dolores was very outgoing and always enjoyed talking with people. She was a meticulous housekeeper and loved to do laundry. 

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband Leonard, son Alfred Del Vecchio and beloved sister Joan Norcia. She is survived by her loving daughter, Elizabeth Del Vecchio, her daughter-in-law JoAnn Del Vecchio, grandchildren Alfred Del Vecchio, Shawn Del Vecchio and his wife Dana, Nicholas Sarro and cherished great-grandchildren Jack, Julian and Dillon. Dolores is also survived by her nieces and nephews Pamela Lewis, Anthony Norcia, Carmine Norcia and Gina Jamieson. 

Funeral services will be at Kugler Funeral Home located at 311 5th St. Saddle Brook, NJ. Visiting hours are Friday, July 5th from 3-7pm. Funeral mass will be on Saturday, July 6th at 9:30am at St. Philip the Apostle Church located at 488 Saddle River Road Saddle Brook, NJ. Interment in Hollywood Memorial Cemetery in Union, NJ
